Woven, 2019, 5'x7', Cardboard, Balikbayan boxes, USPS boxes, yarn

This wall hanging cardboard structure is representative of my dual identity as a Filipinx- American, with the unfinished, disgruntled bottom representing my struggle and unsolidified story. The weaving is inspired by traditional banig weaving in the Philippines and Balikbayan boxes are a staple in every Filipinx-American home, where they are packed up with essentials and goodies to send to our families in the Philippines.
